University gets IELTS recognition

Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) has announced that its English Language Center (ELC) is now recognised as an IELTS testing centre, allowing the university students and candidates from outside to apply and take the test on campus.
Dr Mahmoud Haj Ahmed, head of general education at HBMeU, said: “The British Council’s recognition of HBMeU’s English Language Center is part of our continuing efforts to enhance the learning experience in the university and create a truly comprehensive learning environment.”
“Our aim is to equip all learners with practical skills and knowledge that will enable them to achieve success in their chosen fields. The English language is an important tool in today’s globalised society and we are delighted that we have moved a step further in our goal to attain wide recognition for our intensive English programmes.”
HBMeU is the first e-learning institute in the region that was established with the vision to develop a new learning process through the implementation of learning practices characterised by flexibility, quality and diversity to strengthen self-leadership among learners and prepare them socially and academically for a future career through integration in the job market. – TradeArabia News Service
