Dubai, December 20, 2011
The Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman), a leading Islamic insurance provider in the UAE, in partnership with UAE Takaful Re and MNRB Malaysia, will host a three-day course on Takaful in Dubai.
The course entitled Fundamentals of Takaful will be held from January 9 to 11, 2012 at the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel.
The event will be inaugurated by Fatima Mohammed Ishaq Al Awadi, deputy director general, UAE Insurance Authority, and will also give the opening keynote address.
The training course is specially designed by the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), a leading insurance education and training institution, and is also part of Aman’s quality-based initiative to raise further awareness on the importance of Takaful products and services for UAE Nationals and residents in the UAE.
The training programme is being supported by the Global Takaful Group and is expected to attract the participation of executives from Takaful-based companies in the UAE and other countries within the region.
“We laud Aman for their efforts to organize this event, helping increase the level of understanding for Takaful concepts and foundations. The region has demonstrated a wide interest in Takaful, ushering increased activity, particularly in the UAE,” said Al Awadi.
“The country remains as one of the leaders in the adoption of Takaful as a strategic insurance solution, which is backed by the UAE Insurance Authority’s development of a first-of-its-kind Takaful system in 2010. We need to remain true in our commitment to support the effort to increase more awareness for Takaful by developing and adopting more solutions, products and services for a rapidly growing customer base.”
Haniff Ab Hamid, insurance director, Hufas Consultants, will lead the lectures and workshop activities for the event.
According to Aman, the first day of the event will cover the principles and practices of Takaful. Discussions will include a complete overview of the segment like the philosophy and concept of Takaful; Shari’a principles and other important Takaful-based topics.
The second day will cover fire and engineering insurance while the third day will touch on miscellaneous accident insurance, Life and Health. The training session is on an ‘invitation only’ basis with a course structure that has been developed by the MII.
At the end of the seminar, attendees will be given certificates marking their completion of the three-day course.
“We are seeing a rising demand for Takaful products and services, particularly across the GCC region, which has earned the distinction of being one of the most important Takaful markets,” said Hussein Al Meeza, chief executive officer and managing director, Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman).
“The Takaful training course, with the help of the Malaysian Insurance Institute, demonstrates our continuing effort to implement community educational initiatives that aim to create a better understanding of Takaful, underlining the benefits and advantages gained from using it. Also, we would like to thank the support rendered by key organizations like the Global Takaful Group and the Emirates Insurance Authority for helping us in making this event possible,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
