GOP backs inJAz Bahrain programme

Manama, December 1, 2011

A Bahraini executive from General Organisation of Sea Ports (GOP) has signed up to become a volunteer for a teaching module of inJAz Bahrain, a provider of business and economic education to young people.

Bahraini executive Safa Al Tajir, Head of Tenant Services, Bahrain Logistics Zone (BLZ), is sharing her experience in a teaching module entitled ‘Careers with a Purpose’ with secondary school students as part of the programme.

She is actively involved in this management and training programme which is aimed at introducing students to the importance of seeking careers that help them realise their life potential and noble purpose.

During the course of the programme, Al Tajir is lecturing at the Hidd Secondary Girls School, where she helps demonstrate the importance of positive values and ethical decision-making within the context of career decisions.

The “Careers with a Purpose” teaching module currently focuses on secondary school level students, and is designed to help students identify careers that best suit their skills and capabilities through proper education and training.

“inJAz Bahrain’s programmes are critical to the development of our emerging generation, and we are very pleased that Safa is volunteering her time for this important initiative,” said Hassan Ali Almajed, director general of GOP.

“We see it as a responsibility of the GOP to do our part in ensuring the program is as successful as can be, and in helping to highlight the many achievements of the female workforce in the ports and shipping industry.

“The programme also fits perfectly into our business strategy, which aims at enhancing overall capacity-building and helping promote the career potential of the maritime industry in the Kingdom, which will ultimately help Bahrain’s maritime sector to prosper and remain competitive in the global maritime community. We look forward to achieving great results and hope to see more of our team members take part in inJAz Bahrain’s future projects,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
