Al Salam Bank wins business quiz
Manama, August 29, 2011
Bahrain-based Al Salam Bank has won a business quiz competition which tested each team’s knowledge of Bahrain, Bahraini business, industry and the kingdom’s labour fund Tamkeen.
Team Al Salam Bank beat out teams ARIG, who took second place, and Bahrain Bourse and Promethean, each of which had advanced to the grand finale after having won their respective industry quiz nights earlier in the month.
Towards this end, the grand finale also saw teams take part in a creative challenge each presenting their industry, its contribution to the kingdom’s economy and growth and their role in investing in, training and developing Bahrain talent through interactive presentations and performances.
“We congratulate team Al Salam Bank on winning the Tamkeen Business Quiz Show challenge,” said Zahra’a Taher, managing director of FinMark Communications, founders and organisers of the show.
“Their performance and that all the teams who have taken part in the show goes a long way towards underscoring the dynamic nature of Bahrain’s economy and the businesses and individuals that continue to drive its growth and make the Kingdom a leading regional business centre.”
Khalid Al Amin, vice chairman and board member of Tamkeen, said: “We are delighted to have been the title sponsor of this unique event and thank His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his patronage. This event developed by a private sector company, FinMark Communications, is just another example of the type of initiatives Tamkeen supports in line with our ongoing efforts to drive further development of private sector businesses and talent.”
“We have been delighted with the significant participation from all of the event’s stakeholders including individuals and businesses that have given so generously with their time and effort.”
“We are also pleased that the event has also helped to raise public awareness of the Bahraini economy, Tamkeen's programmes and the support Tamkeen provides to the private sector, individuals and enterprises, and the overall development of the Kingdom’s human capital, which remains Bahrain’s greatest asset,” Al Amin concluded.
The six-person winning team from Al Salam Bank were presented with BD1000 ($2,652) in cash compliments of FinMark Communications and six LCDs from YK Al Moayyed. Runners up team ARIG won six tickets to Dubai compliments of Bahrain-based Dadabhai Travel. – TradeArabia News Service
