UD’s online registration up 20pc

Dubai, July 28, 2011

The University of Dubai (UD) has reported a 20 percent increase in online registration for the Fall semester as compared to last year.

The university launched its online registration last year and the response from incoming students who registered online for admission to the university has been overwhelming, a statement said.

To date, UD received 130 online registrations for the Fall semester of the academic year 2011/2012.

“We are pleased to announce that we are getting strong response for our online registration from prospective students who have expressed their intention to be admitted to UD,” said Dr Omar Hefni, UD president.

“The online registration is a helpful tool for students so they can access information about UD, our programmes, facilities and faculty and they can learn more about how to apply for admission to the university. The growing number of registrations proves that these students believe that their expectations for their higher education would be met by enrolling at UD,” he added.

Dr Hefni added that online registration is provided to students who cannot travel immediately to the campus to register.
