Abu Dhabi-based Alhosn University, a leading private university, recently hosted a seminar on building design software.

The New Generation of Building Design Softwares seminar was hosted by Alhosn University’s Center for Research and Consultancy in cooperation with Techiesoft, a top IT and project management solutions provider.

Dr Basem Alzahabi, professor and associate head of the mechanical engineering department at US-based Kettering University, delivered a lecture entitled ‘The Importance of Simulation for Engineers’ during the seminar.

Dr Alzahabi’s presentation discussed the features and capabilities of advanced structural design software from Techiesoft.

“Dr Alzahabi’s presentation gave us valuable insights into the role of simulation in enhancing engineering planning and outputs,” said Dr Hany El Naggar, vice president for engineering in the Center for Research and Consultancy, Alhosn University.

“Through our partnership with Kettering University, we seek opportunities such as these to ameliorate the university’s expertise in engineering, math, science and business and hence expand the knowledge base and skills of our students and faculty. We look forward to more visits from other professors and researchers from Kettering University as well from our other international partners,” he added.

Kettering University is fielding a delegation to Alhosn University in line with an International Articulation Agreement signed by the universities late last year to promote and expand international understanding, development and cooperation between the two institutions, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
