The British University in Dubai (BUiD) has appointed Professor Haitham Haloush as Senior Lecturer of the newly-launched Masters (MSc) programme in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution (CLDR), to commence in February.
Dr Haloush previously worked for The Hashemite University in Jordan for about five years as Assistant Professor of Law, having completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from Leeds University in 2004.
Ahead of the February 2010 intake, Dr Haloush will be responsible for overseeing the region’s first CLDR programme and developing the course at an international standard.
“The CLDR course will offer the region’s law and construction professionals with the much-needed knowledge to further develop in their respective careers and contribute to the region’s fast-growing economy,” said Professor Abdulla Alshamsi, vice-chancellor, The British University in Dubai.
Dr Haloush is a regular speaker at local and international conferences, and is also editor of two books titled: Online Alternative Dispute Resolution as a Solution to Cross-Border Electronic Commercial Disputes, and International Encyclopedia of Laws: Contract Law in Jordan.
