Dubai fashion students on France visit
Dubai, March 19, 2009
French Fashion University Esmod (FFUE) Dubai, the UAE branch of the international fashion institution, is taking 23 students on a 10-day tour to Paris and Lyon.
The France visit, which will commence on March 20, is in line with FFUE’s ongoing efforts to broaden student knowledge by exposing them to global developments in fashion and art.
During their tour, the students will have a chance to visit exclusive fashion events, internationally renowned fashion houses and world famous cultural and touristic attractions based in Paris and Lyon.
The students will visit Esmod Paris, Louvre Museum, Hermes workshop, Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibition, Vermont haute-couture embroideries, headquarters of Dior, Paris City Hall, Galliera Fashion Museum, Gallerie Lafayette, Yves Saint Laurent Foundation, Louis Vuitton House among others.
“We believe that no course in fashion would be complete without a visit to Paris, regarded as the fashion capital of the world,” said Tamara Hostal, founder and director, FFUE.
French Fashion University Esmod is the oldest and most prestigious educational institution dedicated to international fashion education.
Founded in Paris in 1841 by Frenchman Alexis Lavigne, the school was the first to standardize couture by introducing iconic tools such as the mannequin and the measuring tape.
FFUE operates branches in 20 countries and has trained several professionals who have gone on to work for international stylists such as Dior, Saint-Laurent, Kenzo, Paco Rabanne, Gaultier and Givenchy.
The Dubai branch of Esmod, currently the only dedicated fashion institution in the UAE, was opened in October of 2006. The local arm was established to tap the growing demand for haute couture in the Middle East.-TradeArabia News Service
