Leadership skills chance for Arab students

Dubai, July 12, 2008

Twenty-four Arab students have been given the chance to develop their skills at a Young Arab Leaders programme in Germany.

The Arab European Internship Exchange, organised for the second consecutive year, offers high calibre students from Arab universities to impart and encourage first-hand knowledge and experience to young talent.

A welcome session was hosted for the interns in Germany as part of the three-month programme, organised in association with auto giant Daimler.

YAL chief executive officer Assem O Kabesh and Daimler board member Dr. Rüdiger Grube welcomed them at Daimler’s Headquarters in Stuttgart.

Some of the interns will train at the Stuttgart headquarters while the others will be based at Daimler’s Financial Services Company in Berlin.

The interns are from universities in Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

YAL’s aim with the various regional and global Internship programmes is to encourage dialogue between Arab and international students and managers from multinational companies, to initiate relationships between future junior managers from the Arab region with experienced managers from across the globe.

Through internships, YAL and its partners are working towards supporting the development of regional national economies. – Trade Arabia News Service
