25 students receive SAE part-scholarships

Dubai, May 3, 2008

SAE Institute has awarded 25 students from across the region part-scholarships to study film, audio, 3D animation and multimedia at the institute.

SAE is the worlds largest creative media and communications technology education and training provider in the fields of film making, 3D animation, multimedia and web design and audio engineering.

“It brings us great pleasure to announce the success of our scholarship programme and to actually meet the awarded candidates from across the region.  We gladly welcome these students and are very content to be able to contribute to their education and further their careers,” said SAE managing director, Asia Pacific & Middle East, Marco Bettelli.

“Following the success of the initial phase of our scholarship programme, we hope to develop and make this a regular initiative in support of the Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Foundation.”

Since the launch of its scholarship programme last year, the SAE Scholarship Committee has assessed over 200 applicants from the Middle East, Pakistan and India and has finally awarded 25 students a part-scholarship to cover the cost of 50 per cent of  the published tuition fees for an Australian one-year Diploma programme at the SAE Institute - Dubai Knowledge Village campus for Lebanese, Egyptian, Sudanese, Indian and Pakistani students and also the new state-of-the-art SAE Campus in Amman, for Jordanian Iraqi, Palestinian and Syrians.

The 25 students consist of 12 Jordanians, eight Egyptians, two Iraqis and one Palestinian, one Lebanese and one Sudanese.  Most of the students opted for audio studies, with the second majority choosing to follow in film studies.

The third popular stream was 3D animation and four per cent of the students nominated multi-media as their domain of study.

The successful applicants are now studying a fully Australian accredited course at either the renowned Dubai Knowledge Village educational zone in the UAE or the brand new SAE Institute campus in Amman Jordan.

Upon graduation the student will be well positioned for consideration - subject to Visa application criteria at the time, to continue studies for a degree qualification at one of the SAE degree centers in Australia or elsewhere.

Plans are already underway to expand the scholarship program to further territories in late 2007 /08 and it has been suggested that these could include Libya, Morocco, Kenya, Turkey and Iran. – TradeArabia News Service
