Manpower acquires Clarendon Parker
Dubai:, January 9, 2008
Manpower has acquired Clarendon Parker Middle East, the region’s largest recruitment and employment solution provider.
The move helps Manpower Middle East become the clear market leader for professional recruitment, HR consulting services and business solutions in the region, the company said in a statement.
“The vast potential and ongoing development of the region makes the Middle East an extremely attractive market for Manpower,” said Manpower Middle East Managing Director Varina Nissen,. “We intend to invest significant resources into bringing our world-class products and services to our clients and candidates alike.”
Manpower and CPME are well acquainted with a history of successful partnership, with CPME appointed as the US headquartered group’s Middle East partner over three years ago.
“A number of our global clients are already operating in the region,” explained Nissen. “CPME, as an organization with very similar values and culture to Manpower, was chosen to represent us in the Middle East, supporting these clients at a local level. The partnership has been extremely productive and we decided to progress that relationship to the next logical step.”
CPME’s Managing Director, Patrick Luby, has led the Clarendon Parker team since 1998, expanding the operations from one Dubai branch to nine GCC offices, including three in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He will continue in a senior leadership role with the newly acquired entity, as Senior Vice President for Business Development, Partner and Government Relations for the region.
“CPME has expanded its reach year on year to become the largest Middle East-based recruiting agency in the GCC. We are extremely proud of its success and its hard-earned reputation as a trusted, professional recruitment partner,” said Luby. “Our core values mirror Manpower’s very closely and we are delighted to become part of the Manpower network.”
Established in 1948, Manpower Inc. has more than 4,400 offices worldwide in 78 countries and territories and operates under five main brands: Manpower, Manpower Professional, Jefferson Wells, Right Management and Elan. It employs 30,000 staff and works with more than 400,000 client organizations throughout the world. Manpower is currently ranked 131 in the Fortune 500 list of America's largest companies.
“The local expertise and knowledge of Clarendon Parker combined with the global experience and resources of Manpower make an extremely powerful combination. Our Manpower services will immediately include the range of professional services offered by our Right Management brand, the world's leading provider of integrated consulting solutions across the employment lifecycle. Our clients in the Middle East are keen to ensure that we can provide these services including leadership development, organizational and talent development and workforce optimization,” said Nissen. “We are looking to set a new standard in the Middle East employment services industry and we intend to become the recruitment partner of choice for companies and jobseekers.” – TradeArabia News Service
