Skills course a big success

Amman, November 26, 2007

Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans held a graduation ceremony to celebrate its beneficiaries' completion of the course titled 'Success Skills'.

The course consisted of 10 weekly sessions, with two separate sessions of the course running simultaneously in both Amman and Irbid, to ensure that the maximum number of beneficiaries benefit from the course's valuable content.

The course was aimed at helping participants strengthen their communication skills by effectively working in groups. The course also taught how to create a positive impact on others, successfully choose a career, write a resume, and conduct an impressive job interview, said an official spokesman.

'Success Skills' was the first in the series of training courses that Al-Aman Fund offered in cooperation with Injaz, a Jordanian non-profit organization providing unique courses that focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, problem solving, and social skills.

These courses were offered by the fund in an effort to help its beneficiaries effectively become part of the future Jordanian workforce and contribute efficiently and significantly to the development of the national economy.

Samsung, on its part, supported this initiative by awarding the Fund’s beneficiaries, who successfully completed the course, with new mobile handsets.

“Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans is very optimistic about the new partnership it has formed with Injaz and the positive impact these courses will hopefully have on its beneficiaries. All of these courses address topics that will help prepare our beneficiaries for a future of success and independence and will help materialise the vision of the fund's founder Queen Rania Abdullah, to secure a better tomorrow for Jordan's orphaned and abandoned youth,” said Injaz and Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans executive director at Al-Aman Fund Maha Saqqa.
