Dh2m Al Barari aid to Dubai Cares

Dubai, November 12, 2007

Al Barari has donated Dh2 million ($544,628) to support Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Dubai Cares programme.

The donation will help support the initiative’s mission to alleviate the plight of under privileged children across the world, the premium property developer said in a statement

Launched by Sheikh Mohammed the “Dubai Cares” campaign will raise funds that will go to countries which lack resources for education and face major impediments to growth and stability.

The campaign sets out to build new/renovate schools; distribute school supplies; award scholarships; coordinate a feeding programme; setup annual medical check-ups for students and teachers; and provide training and workshops for teachers.

“It’s a bold vision and an initiative worthy of support from everyone in Dubai. Al Barari is privileged to be able to help, and is confident that this initiative will genuinely make a difference in the lives of millions of children around the world,” said Al Barari chairman Zaal Mohammed Zaal.

Zaal said Al Barari is not only changing the landscape of the real estate industry, but redefining the way businesses interact with society, the environment and the community in which they operate.

“I strongly believe that businesses have a social responsibility to fulfil and play a crucial role in elevating and enriching society,” he said.

This donation is a natural extension of Al Barari’s strong advocacy for a more responsible and humane way of doing business.

“We at Al Barari have great faith in the individual and in his capacity to inspire change in others, and in that belief we continuously aim to improve peoples’ quality of life by supporting initiatives that are inspired by human values such as love, integration and human dignity,” Zaal said. – TradeArabia News Service
