BBBF to conduct 'back to business' survey
Manama, November 30, 2011
More than 200 people attended the Bahrain British Business Forum's (BBBF) second annual Back to Business Bazaar at the British Embassy last night.
This year's bazaar focussed on the Back to Business survey being conducted until the middle of December.
Each of the BBBF's special interest group (SIG) heads hosted a roundtable discussion about the topics highlighted in the survey with experts on hand to offer advice.
In addition to the SIG heads, representatives from Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Economic Development Board, Tamkeen, Bahrain Polytechnic and Oxford Business Group took part.
"We are hosting this event, with the support of British Ambassador Iain Lindsay, for the second time to support members and their guests with networking opportunities," said SIG chairwoman Jill Boggiss.
"We are in the process of conducting a market survey to identify key issues and members were able to discuss them. A full survey report will be published in January.
"Providing opportunities for businesses to learn about government initiatives and to network and learn from each other are just two issues of importance in the survey.
"Anyone wishing to take part in the survey can still do so and details are on the BBBF Twitter feed."
The networking event was hosted by Lindsay. It featured participation of the BBBF's six special interest groups: construction, legal services, security, organisational effectiveness, IT and telecoms, and financial services and insurance.
"The success of last year's event encouraged us to further expand the event to allow as many people to come and connect with one another with the aim of creating business opportunities between our members and the business community at large," said BBBF chairman Khalid Al Zayani.
The event was sponsored by HSBC, AXA Insurance, Batelco, Gulf Brands International, InterContinental Regency Bahrain and GP Zachariades.-TradeArabia News Service
