Bahrain 'ideal for investment'

Manama, October 2, 2011

Bahrain remains one of the most attractive economies for investments and projects with the best of facilities and incentive packages, said the Kingdom's businessmen during a key meeting with an American delegation.

The visiting delegation was headed by US International Trade Department Middle East international trade specialist Steven Garret.

At the meeting, the members of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) reaffirmed the ability of Bahrain's economic infrastructure to regain growth momentum soon.

The BCCI members also called upon their American counterparts to convey the reality of life in the Kingdom.

The two sides later discussed ways of optimising Bahrainis' dividends from the Free Trade Agreement bonding both countries. They also reaffirmed joint desire to promote economic and trade relations.

Garret stressed the strength of Bahrain's economy and investment environment. 'Bahrain represents an ideal investment destination and a viable gate for US investments in the region,' he remarked.

He said that co-ordination would be stepped up between the US International Trade Department, BCCI officials and the US embassy in Manama to boost investment.-TradeArabia News Service
