Dubai, November 24, 2010
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is set host its third 'Summit on the Global Agenda' in Dubai from November 29 to December 1. The event is held in partnership with the UAE represented by the government of Dubai.
During the three-day summit, this unique gathering of the Forum’s Network of Global Agenda Councils – which consists of the world’s most relevant thought leaders from academia, business, government and society – will bring together over 600 participants from 60 countries.
They will engage in interactive workshops and sessions to set priorities for the most compelling ideas to improve the state of the world and identify relevant risks and innovative responses to address the world’s challenges.
The co-chairs of the summit are Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi, director-general of Economic Department of the Government of Dubai.
In parallel with the summit, an “Open Forum” will be held to debate some of the prominent topics of the Global Agenda Councils. The aim is to establish a stronger link with the local population and help raise awareness of the importance such topics hold for the region.
The Open Forum event will be open to the general public and held on November 28 and December 1 at the American University.
In addition to engaging the public at large and beyond the United Arab Emirates, the World Economic Forum will launch the Davos Debates in Dubai on YouTube to coincide with the Summit on the Global Agenda.-TradeArabia News Service
