BCCI in drive to boost Thai trade ties

A high-profile delegation representing Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will travel to Thailand on June 24 aiming to explore untapped investment and trade opportunities, a top official of BCCI said.
The week-long visit will herald new horizons for co-operation, BCCI chairman Dr Essam Fakhro at a meeting with Thai trade commissioner Kiat Sittheeamorn.
Led by Dr Fakhro, the delegation will also visit the Philippines to hold talks on boosting co-operation.
Dr Fakhro described the planned visits as an opportunity to promote Bahrain's investment and economic potential.
He urged Bahrain and Thai businessmen to take advantage of ever growing bilateral economic relations, boosting trade exchanges and setting up joint ventures.
"Exchanges of trade delegations and joint events are instrumental in boosting economic and commercial ties," he said.
He cited the investment-friendly environment and economic freedom as Bahrain's key assets.
"The visit is part of BCCI's sustained efforts to boost the volume of trade and economic co-operation," he said.
He credited Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for the steady growth in bilateral relations.
Sittheeamorn also welcomed Bahrain's investments in the tourism, medical and banking sectors particularly, urging local businessmen to enhance their presence in Thai markets.
