Delhi to host major Indo-Arab forum

A high-level delegation from Bahrain will attend an Indo-Arab economic forum, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on Friday and Saturday.
The event is being organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at the Federation House, New Delhi.
It is titled: 'India-Arab Investment Projects Conclave'.
Bahrain-India Society chairman and former minister Abdulnabi Al Sho'ala will lead a delegation from the society to the forum.
Also among the delegates are Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry board member Jawad Al Hawaj, leading businessman Mohammed Dadabhai and Arcapita Bank senior executives Ranjeev Bhatia and Jonathan Squires.
The forum will help promote economic and trade relations between Bahrain and India, said Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty.
'It will provide a venue for the delegates to understand Indian economy and the opportunities in the key sectors,' he told the Gulf Daily News, our sister newspaper.
'The forum will discuss issues in doing business in India and the Arab countries, opportunities in real estate-based projects, investment opportunities in infrastructure, tourism, lifestyle, education and healthcare projects.
'Also there are exclusive sessions on energy, manufacturing and small and medium enterprises.'
Shetty appealed to more Bahraini businessmen to take part in the high-profile event.
Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the forum.
Speakers at the opening session include League of Arab States Mission in India head Ahmed Salem Al Wahishi, Saudi Ambassador to India and Dean of Arab Corps Saleh Al Ghamdi, Sudanese Investment Minister Kosti Manibe and FICCI senior vice-president Harsh Patil Singhania.
The inaugural session's theme is: 'Development and future vision of the India-Arab economic partnership'.
Speakers from the Arab countries will present papers on the latest developments in the Arab economy, its performances, points of strength and the challenges.
Speakers from India will focus on investment opportunities in India and its co-relation with economic reforms. -TradeArabia News Service
