Umm Al Quwain sewage project complete

ABU DHABI, March 8, 2018

The UAE President Initiatives Committee has announced the completion of a sewage treatment station project in Umm Al Quwain.

The project was undertaken at a cost of Dh22 million ($5.99 million), a Wam news agency report said.

Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, deputy minister of presidential affairs and chairman of the committee, highlighted the importance of the committee’s projects, which aim to provide a clean and healthy environment free from pollution, as well as treated water for agricultural irrigation, green spaces and road development.

The station will receive wastewater and factory effluents which will then be chemically and biologically treated to remove contaminants and produce water for irrigating green areas. The station will produce up to 1.275 million gallons of treated water per day.
