Bahrain says key road revamp work on track

MANAMA, February 28, 2018

Work on the Hidd Industrial Area Roads Revamp Project was progressing well with nearly 86 per cent of the job fully completed.

The BD1.5 million ($3.95 million) project, which involves construction of single carriageways, namely Avenue 17, Road 1730, Road 1737 and Road 1734 besides lighting and installing pipelines, kicked off last March.

"The project aims to improve infrastructure in South Hidd (Preparatory Phase)," said Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf after touring the Hidd Industrial Area work site.

"The ministry is implementing the project in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The project aims to develop infrastructure in South Hidd and increase safety levels in the area," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
