Kingston unit to build LED plant in Sharjah

Kingston Holdings, a key manufacturer of electrical products including light fittings and air movement products, said one of its units, Rexton Technologies Middle East, is setting up a fully integrated LED manufacturing facility at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone).
The plant is being built with the technical support of Ansell Lighting UK and Pierlite Australia, and will boast cutting-edge LED production, design and customization capabilities.
Rexton, the flagship brand of Kingston group, has more than 12 years of manufacturing tradition in Saif Zone, and exports to more than 100 countries, said top official.
"Rexton has been providing local and global customers with highly customized lighting solutions for commercial, industrial and special application," remarked Lalu Samuel, the chairman and managing director of Kingston Holdings.
"The need of the hour is to make concrete contributions to the green movement. Towards this goal, Rexton seeks to transform and develop more energy efficient and intelligent products by pushing the environmental innovation boundaries," stated Samuel.
According to him, Kingston is the largest investor in SAIF Zone with its facility spread over a million sq ft area divided into 300,000 sq ft for its modern logistics and distribution facility; 125,000 sq ft for manufacturing area and 200,000 sq ft for office facility.
The group’s diversified businesses in Saif Zone manufactures over 1,200 products in various categories, including air movement, heating, ventilation, cable management PVC & metal, data distribution, industrial and energy efficient light fittings, domestic appliances, medical refrigeration and water heating.
The group also operates its international joint ventures and other business divisions across the region from its SAIF Zone headquarters.
In the first phase, the new plant will manufacture fast moving commercial items including LED panels, retrofit down-lights, street lights, weather proof, batten fittings, flood lights and spot lights, said Samuel.
The manufacturing facility and lab will also provide testing facility for external customers who wish to evaluate the quality of their LED products, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
