Kone wins order for Doha luxury tower

DOHA, February 11, 2018

Kone Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, said it has won a major order to supply 17 elevators and four escalators for the Al Mana Tower, a high-rise luxury project coming up in Doha, Qatar.

The 56-storey tower will house 168 residential units including one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and 117 commercial offices. This high-rise luxury project is spread across 117,508 sq m and is strategically located in Al Dafna.

Kone will be equipping the development with 11 kone MiniSpace elevators, six Kone MonoSpace elevators and four Kone TM110 escalators.

The main contractor of the project is Al Bandary Engineering Trading & Contracting and the tower is being developed by Mohammed Hamad Al Mana. The project is expected to be completed in early 2019.

The order, which was booked in the second quarter of 2016, also includes full Kone destination control system and E-Link Monitoring System.

On the contract win, Mark Bayyari, the managing director for Kone Qatar, said: "We are excited to be a part of Qatar’s continued development. We are delighted to be able to bring our innovation and expertise in high-rise to the Al Mana Tower."
