Saudi Minister of Transport, chairman of the board of directors of Saudi Railways Organization and Saudi Railways Company (SAR) Dr Nabil bin Mohammed Al Amoudi took the Haramain Express Train's first trip ahead of the commercial launch, said a report.

It is the first journey along a 450-km route from Madinah station to the passenger station in Makkah to set the readiness of the project before the commercial operation of the service, reported SPA.

The minister was accompanied by Spanish Ambassador Alvaro Iranzo and a number of officials.
