Abu Dhabi’s bidding hall processes $2.79bn tenders in H1

ABU DHABI, August 7, 2017

Abu Dhabi’s ‘Al Maqta’a bidding hall’ processed tenders worth Dh10.26 billion ($2.79 billion) from 10 government entities in the emirate during the first half of 2017, the Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi (DoF) has announced.

The tenders managed by Al Maqta’a included infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.

The tenders processed were from: The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (Transco), Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), Abu Dhabi General Services ‘Musanada’ and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.

The capital and operational project tenders processed in the first half of 2017 included: infrastructure projects in Al Wathba North and various regions of Abu Dhabi, Shakhbout City, Madinat Zayed Commercial District in Al Dhafra region; road works in Al Dhafra; electricity, water and sanitation infrastructure in different regions of the emirate of Abu Dhabi including Al Tawiyat, Al Ain, Khalifa area and Yasat Island; and service projects and government buildings such as establishing Abu Dhabi Disabled Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), Qasr Al Hosn, Al Ghuwaifat Border, strategic feed stores, Abu Dhabi Central Morgue, General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions; purchasing public transport buses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra; and allocating Mawaqif parking inspectors.

Jamal Ahmed Al Khoori, director of government tenders and auction support management, financial policies and system sector, said: “The Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi continues its efforts to implement the best standards of transparency and justice in procurement and government projects to ensure competition is fair and equal, as well as to strengthen the financial system to support the emirate’s development process. Al Maqta’a bidding hall adopts the best legal and regulatory to enhance Abu Dhabi’s economic competitiveness through attracting foreign investments.”

The Al Maqta’a bidding hall was established in June 2015 for capital and operational project tenders. It aims is to enhance transparency, competitiveness, and openness pertaining to tenders issued by Abu Dhabi-based government entities worth more than Dh100 million ($27.23 million). –TradeArabia News Service
