ABU DHABI, April 12, 2017

ZonesCorp, the largest developer and operator of purpose-built industrial zones in the UAE, said it has signed four new deals with companies to build facilities in Al Ain Industrial City (AAIC).

These new projects represent a combined investment of approximately Dh51 million ($13.8 million) and cover a total area of nearly 60,000 sq m.

After finalising deals with ZonesCorp at the end of 2016 and Q1 2017, construction of the new facilities is underway and due to be completed towards the end of the year, said a top official.

"These new developments show that AAIC and its distinctive advantages continue to be attractive to investors, particularly for those looking to access markets in the flourishing city of Al Ain external markets such as Oman and Saudi Arabia and Qatar," remarked Saeed Eisa Al Khyeli, the director general of ZonesCorp.

Investors also gain other advantages from operating in ZonesCorp acreage such as value chain benefits and cheap, readily available utilities. We are looking forward to working together with the investors to help them fully realise their ambitions.

The new facilities in Al Ain Industrial City represent a diverse range of businesses including, Mauzan Perfumes Factory, a leading Emirati luxury fashion house in the UAE, founded in 1990; High Class Doors & Windows Factory, which uses the latest technology to produce plastic plates, sheets, blocks, film, foils, strips & plastic doors, windows, frames and shutters designed to accommodate the varied climates experienced in the UAE; Al Murooj Organic Fertilizer Factory, an organic manure production project and the first of its kind within the UAE; Al Sultan Readymix & Precast which produces high quality precast concrete elements for precast Buildings & Boundary walls.

Strategically located midway between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, AAIC has excellent transport and communication links and is ideally located to serve GCC markets, said the top official.

Spread over an area of 9 sq km, AAIC has been developed and is operated under the same technical and environmental standards as the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) catering to light manufacturing industries and SME’s such as paper and wood, textiles, small scale service and repair workshops.

The industrial city also caters to some heavy industries such as chemical and plastic projects.

ZonesCorp has plans to further develop AAIC with new projects, such as retail and leisure facilities, stated Al Khyeli.

AAIC features fully serviced plots in a wide range of sizes are available that benefit from superior utility infrastructure. As with every zone under ZonesCorp’s management, uninterrupted utilities are offered at competitive market prices, he noted.

Moreover, the clusters are connected by world class road networks that connect with other GCC countries.

Since its inception, ZonesCorp has played a key role in developing the industrial sector in the UAE, said Al Khyeli.

Currently housing over 650 industrial facilities, ZonesCorp has attracted over Dh29 billion ($7.8 billion) worth of investments from local and international companies into its economic zones, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
