Bahrain works ministry buoyed by response in Q4
MANAMA, January 24, 2017
Bahrain's Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has received a total of 774 requests and complaints during the fourth quarter of 2016, said a senior official.
The figure reflects citizens’ active response towards the ministry’s initiatives, especially those linked to the modern technology, which go hand in hand with directives from HRH the Prime Minister, remarked Fahad Buallay, the communications director at the ministry.
There were 635 requests with regard to the roads sector, while the sanitary sector received 139 requests during the period between October to December.
Buallay pointed out that November attracted the highest number of requests totalling 339, followed by October (225) and December with 210 requests.
To encourage citizens and residents to communicate with the ministry on all issues, it has opened hotline numbers for various sectors such as sanitary sector - 80001810, traffic signals emergency - 80008383. Even the communications directorate can be contacted on 71545544.
This comes in line with HRH the Crown Prince’s close follow-up to the system and his concern towards allowing people to convey their requests and concerns easily, he stated.
According to him, the number of requests and complaints which the communications team responded to within only 10 days from the date of reception, or less, amounted to 166 requests and complaints out of the total number of requests, with an average of 8.6 requests/day.-TradeArabia News Service
