Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has launched Packages 3 and 4 of infrastructure works at the Emirati neighbourhood in Madinat Zayed area of the UAE capital, said a report.

The move comes as part of Musanada’s efforts to provide sustainable infrastructure serving the community and economy of the emirate in line with the best international standards under the Abu Dhabi Plan, reported the state news agency Wam.

The Dh2.4-billion ($653 million) Madinat Zayed infrastructure project consists of five packages including roads and infrastructure works, of which three are in the Emirati neighbourhood," said the report, citing a senior official.

"The work is in full swing on Packages 3 and 4 with the percentage of completion reaching 3.5 per cent and 3.6 per cent respectively. Preparations are currently under way to consecutively launch all the project works, with completion periods ranging between 14 and 45 months, as the expected completion date will be end of 2019," stated Ali Al Haj Al Mehairbi, Musanada’s acting executive director (building construction management division).

The total size of the residential plots is 1,401 acres, of which there are 510 acres under Package 4 that include 1,196 residential plots allocated for villas and 841 acres in Package 3 that include 1,559 plots also allocated for villas.

"The scope of work includes preparation of the infrastructure, road network and utility routes, as well as development of 2,755 residential plots, 37 mosques, 47 gardens and 13 schools for all educational stages, all within the residential compound which will cater to 22,000 UAE nationals," stated Al Mehairbi.

The project’s preparatory works also include land treatment, levelling, main roads, local roads, potable water system, storm water, sewerage, irrigation and firefighting systems, power cables, 22 kV power substations, gas and telecommunication ducts, he added.
