Al Fara’a wins UAE luxury tower contract
DUBAI, September 1, 2016
UAE-based civil construction company Al Fara’a Group has been named the main contractor by Farglory Middle East, a leading developer in the region, for its high-profile Maryah Plaza project in Abu Dhabi.
Stationed at the waterfront in Al Maryah Island’s new financial free zone, Maryah Plaza will consist of four towers, three of which will house luxury apartments.
Once complete, the project will set a new benchmark in global luxury living, said the developer.
The four-tower structure represents the first-ever Middle East commission by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Richard Rogers, known for celebrated projects across the world, including London’s One Hyde Park and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, it added.
Al Fara’a Group, which employs 18,000 staff across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, has a long history of executing prestigious projects around Abu Dhabi, including the Awqaf building in Khalidiya, Mushrif Mall, Abraj Al Raha Development, Al Hilal Bank headquarters on Al Maryah Island and the new Siemens headquarters at Masdar City.
Far Glory Middle East has now re-shaped the original interior layout to meet the market demand for more ultra-prime one- and two-bedroom apartments on the island.
With final designs and the well-established Al Fara’a now locked in place, work is under way at the site.
The mixed-use development is expected to become the heart of Al Maryah Island as Mubadala and the government continue towards their joint vision to make it the Manhattan of the Middle East.
Jack Hu, the managing director of Farglory Middle East, said: "Today, we are a major step closer to bringing the quintessential living to the heart of Al Maryah Island, which is set to become such an important part of the future of Abu Dhabi."
"With our strong track record of over 700 successful construction projects globally we believe Maryah Plaza will become a global icon and a benchmark for luxury and we are delighted to be working with such a strong local contractor," he stated.
"Working in partnership with Al Fara’a Group and RSH+P, we are building a new architectural landmark together that will help to redefine Abu Dhabi’s skyline on Al Maryah Island," he added.
According to him, the first of three 29-floor-high towers is scheduled to be completed in 2018, offering a range of opulent homes from one-bedroom apartments to penthouse suites with private swimming pools and terraces.
The fourth, and largest tower, will house offices, serviced apartments, and a boutique hotel with restaurants, cafes, and shops spread across the ground level of the building.
Luxury amenities will be present in all four buildings including a clubhouse, zero-edge infinity pool, spa, gymnasium, and an outdoor art gallery with manicured green space, he stated.
Adel Saleh, the president and executive chairman for Al Fara’a Group, said: "We are delighted to be working on such a prestigious development on our home turf alongside such dynamic and forward-thinking partners."
"We understand the importance of Al Maryah Island to the future of the capital and therefore the significance of Maryah Plaza to the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
