Mercury Mena achieves safety milestone

MANAMA, August 29, 2016

Mercury Mena has achieved a safety record of more than 500,000 hours in 260 working days without an injury causing lost time while working as the general contractor for the construction of the first phase of the Mondelēz Bahrain Biscuits Factory project.

The project is coming up at the Bahrain International Investment Park in Hidd.

Jayakumar Nair, safety manager of Mercury Mena, said: “This impressive milestone is attributable to the company’s diligence and dedication to safety. Each employee’s personal commitment towards safety allowed the company to work on this project in full swing with no lost time injuries.”

Mercury Mena has put in place the policies, procedures and controls needed for the company to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognised best practice of BS OHSAS 18001:2007, he said.
