Nshama to develop key project in Dubai Healthcare City

DUBAI, April 4, 2016

Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCC), a leading healthcare free zone in the emirate, said it has joined hands with Nshama, a private developer of smart integrated communities, to establish a mixed-use development community under its Phase Two wellness expansion project.

The new development will spread over 2.9 million sq ft overlooking the historic Dubai Creek that is lined with cultural and architectural sites.

The integrated community, named Al Fursan, to come up in the Al Jadaf area of Dubai, parallel to Al Garhoud Bridge, will comprise premium apartments, serviced residences, four- and five-star hotels, and retail and leisure features.

Dubai-based Nshama is a major developer of elegantly masterplanned neighbourhoods that are smart, interconnected and sustainable.

This new project will create a dynamic living, working and recreation environment for the DHCC community, residents, and medical tourists.

"The partnership with Nshama demonstrates our commitment to sustainable urban planning and the importance of bringing together interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure long-term growth," said Dr Raja Al Gurg, DHCC's vice-chairperson and executive director, after signing the agreement with Nshama chief executive Fred Durie in the presence of Dr Amina Al Rustamani, the group CEO of Tecom Investments and DHCC board member and other senior officials.

“Nshama’s developmental model dovetails with our planning requirements for Phase Two. The project will cater to the growing demand for living choices from healthcare specialists who relocate to the emirate and from medical tourists,” she added.

Durie pointed out that the joint venture (JV) was a key addition to its development portfolio. "The project will be an interconnected community with walkways linking different components, offering a refreshing creek-side ambience," he noted.

Lauding DHCC for its support, Durie said: "This JV project will set the highest standards in design, architecture and construction."

As per the deal, Nshama will focus solely on the development aspects such as the masterplan and design, and work closely with DHCC to ensure optimum land use to integrate the network of mixed-use healthcare and wellness offerings with a residential community aspect at Al Fursan.-TradeArabia News Service
