Tasweek CEO steps down, to take on advisory role
ABU DHABI, December 9, 2015
Abu Dhabi-based Tasweek Real Estate Development and Marketing said its chief executive Masood Al Awar has stepped down from his post and now joined its board of directors as an advisor.
The company will continue to draw on Al Awar’s expertise to maintain its strategic market position and further diversify its growing international portfolio, said a statement from the company.
Under Al Awar’s leadership, Tasweek has emerged as a leading source of some of the world’s top property developments – including the award-winning mixed-use The Haven lakeside residences in Malaysia, the stunning Marrakech Health Care City in Morocco, and Malaysia’s scenic hospitality-themed Casabrina Vacation Villas, the statement said.
Mansoor El Muhairbi, the company chairman, said: “Tasweek will forever be indebted to Al Awar for spearheading the company’s growth into one of the region’s most respected names in real estate. The outstanding integrity and professionalism he has shown during his term continues to inspire our team; moreover, he built Tasweek as an organisation driven by its networking and know-how and which places its valued customers at the core of all actions and decisions."
El Muhairbi said he had served as a vital voice for the UAE real estate industry, providing valuable insights on market trends, opportunities and threats via Tasweek’s quarterly business intelligence reports.
As an advisor for Tasweek, Al Awar will continue to be a valuable asset for the company’s ongoing and future expansion plans, he stated.
Al Awar has nearly 30 years of extensive experience in banking, government and real estate. Prior to heading Tasweek, he occupied executive posts for major industry players Sorouh Real Estate in Abu Dhabi and Emaar Properties in Dubai, said the company in its statement.
His multidisciplinary exposure to the government and private sector activities enabled him to introduce innovative real estate investment approaches for the UAE with Tasweek.
"He will continue to have a strong influence on the directions of our company as we pursue our ongoing expansion plans," said El Muhairbi.-TradeArabia News Service
