Exhibitors at last year's Dubai Woodshow.

Dubai WoodShow to feature more than 230 exhibitors

DUBAI, April 13, 2015

More than 230 exhibitors representing suppliers and manufacturers will showcase wood, wood accessories and woodworking machinery at a leading show in Dubai, UAE, from tomorrow (April 14).

The 10th edition of Dubai WoodShow 2015 will run till April 16 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The exhibition will feature manufacturers, traders, and players from related industries, who will visit to sign deals onsite.

Josine Heijmans, exhibition director at Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions, organiser of the Dubai WoodShow 2015, said the region’s booming economic sectors, particularly construction, are driving the demand for timber products. “This has enticed many global players in wood industry to explore trade opportunities in regional manufacturing and imports. The Dubai WoodShow has grown in stature to become a leader of the regional industry,” she added.

Dubai WoodShow 2015 has attracted international partners and supporters, including Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers' association (Acimall), the Spanish international association (Afemma), American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (Eumabois), FrenchTimber Association, Sweden Wood, Chinese association Lunjiao, Malaysian Timber Council, Quebec Wood Export Bureau and Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association.

“We have gained tremendous support from global leaders in the timber industry. These associations are helping make Dubai WoodShow the ideal place to visit for all hard wood, soft wood, furniture, and other timber products requirements available under one roof for the region and the world,” said Heijmans.

“Also, global leaders in woodworking machinery will have a strong presence in the show displaying the latest woodworking technologies,” she said.

The booming construction sector in the GCC is offering vast trade opportunities. Moreover, more local players have begun to understand the quick return on investment they can gain out of investing in this industry. According to Heijmans, the UAE is also fragmented with the presence of more than 300 wood furniture and joinery companies.

Topics like sustainability in wood manufacturing and regulating wood trade are the main highlights of the three-day event.

“Being a highly specialised show, Dubai WoodShow provides an excellent opportunity for regional and international companies and agents to showcase and learn about wood and woodworking and to build new strategic relationships with buyers, traders and investors,” added Heijmans.

The show will witness a huge display of fine timbers, woodworking machinery, finishes, glues and specialist products like Bote-Cote and NewCreo.

“Timber products on display are targeting builders, owner-builders, shack owners, renovators, furniture makers, boat builders, crafts people and artisans. The Dubai WoodShow is a unique opportunity to purchase many sought-after products directly from manufacturers,” concluded Heijmans. - TradeArabia News Service
