Akhras ... set to lead Depa to sustained growth.

Depa names new group CEO

DUBAI, April 2, 2015

Depa, one of the leading interior contracting companies based in Dubai, UAE, has appointed Nadim Akhras as the group chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Akhras has over 23 years of experience in the engineering and construction field and has successfully overseen and executed high-end and large scale projects in the Middle East, Africa, India and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, said a statement from Depa.

A holder of Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Damascus University and an alumnus of London Business School, Akhras joined Depa in 1998 and has held several senior roles in the company.

He had been the CEO of the Dubai regional office since 2011. The board of directors nominated Akhras as the interim group chief executive in 2013.

Commenting on the appointment, the board said as interim group CEO Akhras had guided Depa to evolve its strategy of geographic diversification and operational consolidation, improving the position of the company in highly competitive markets.

"We are confident that Akhras is the right candidate to overcome the immanent challenges of the regional interior contracting industry, leading Depa to sustained growth and future profits," the board stated.-TradeArabia News Service
