Al Shirawi wins Dubai Downtown MEP deal

DUBAI, November 13, 2014

Al Shirawi Electrical and Mechanical Engineering said it has won a mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for the 118 at Downtown Dubai in Dubai, UAE.

Under the contract, UAE-based Al Shirawi, a pioneer in the region for MEP contracting, will complete installation, testing and commissioning of MEP systems such as the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), plumbing and firefighting, building management and electrical systems for the project.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Dubai and developed by Signature Estates, The 118 is being built on an exceptional monolithic platform that stands 44 storeys high.

Commenting on the win, CEO Navin Valrani said: "The contract for The 118 underscores our proven track record in offering specialised MEP services for large-scale residential projects. We are pleased to be chosen by the client for the execution of the MEP works on what is set to be a landmark on Dubai’s already impressive skyline."

The 118 offers a unique collection of 27 spacious, full-floor unfurnished residences.

Intelligently designed to optimise space, the residences were created 'inside-out' with the floor plans and layouts developed first and the exterior shell created later, resulting in customised haven.-TradeArabia News Service
