Wasl launches new community retail centre in Dubai

DUBAI, October 18, 2014

Wasl properties, one of the largest real estate companies in the UAE, has announced the launch of Samari Retail Centre, a community centre located at its residential project, Samari Residences in Dubai.

A subsidiary of wasl asset management group, the company said the new shopping complex will not only cater to the 1,700 families at the development, but also provide services for patrons visiting from the wider Ras Al Khor locality.

Zainab Mohammed, the CEO (property management, marketing and communications) at wasl, said: "Samari Residences is an affordable development that has brought a high standard of community living to the Ras Al Khor area. Residents living in the development’s 19 buildings will now be able to conveniently access a large array of retail facilities on their doorstep, thanks to the opening of the new community centre."

“We are anticipating that this extensive shopping complex will not only serve the needs of Samari Residences tenants, but also act as a pull for visitors. This will see the development become a focal point of the Ras Al Khor area, which forms part of wasl’s strategy to revitalise specific areas of Dubai,” she added.

Surrounded by a lively mix of residential, commercial and leisure facilities, Samari Retail Centre is sited in close proximity to Dubai International Airport and Mushrif Park, a large recreational area of green space.

Samari Retail Centre has excellent connectivity to Dubai’s main transport artery, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, as well as to Ras Al Khor Road and Al Khail Road.

Prior to the launch of wasl’s new retail development, Samari Residences’ population was served by a single supermarket, with residents having to travel to other areas of Dubai to access a wider range of retail offerings.

“Opening up a single anchor store in a new residential development can effectively add to the attractiveness of an area, but this multi-faceted retail complex goes much further by enabling regeneration through facilitating openings for new business,” said Mohammed.

“We have planned our new retail community centre to be just that – a focus for people living and working in the area and a hub for shopping, banking and community activities. We are expecting that it will become a key destination for people both located in Samari Residences and for those living further afield in the Ras Al Khor environs,” she added.

According to her, Samari Retail Centre has presently 10 retail units available for lease including six food and beverages (F&B) outlets, a space specially allocated for a nursery and neighbourhood clinic, and 11 flexible offices that can be converted for multiple usage, such as banks, financial centres, currency exchanges and other facilities.

The centre will have amenities that include ample parking space, security and logistical infrastructure, she added.-TradeArabia News Service
