MANAMA, October 7, 2014
Plans are underway for work to start on the second phase of the Muharraq ring road project in Bahrain, as part of efforts to address the increased traffic flow on roads.
It includes extending the ring road from Dair village to Busaiteen and building a fourth bridge and a multi-lane road in each direction linking Manama city to Northern Manama Causeway, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The work on the Juffair ring road project is already underway for easing traffic congestion and developing Al Fateh Highway intersections to improve traffic flow to and from Juffair.
The work on Alba/Nuwaidrat intersections development project (Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Avenue) is due to start soon, the report stated.
The project includes a three-layered intersection at Alba roundabout and replacing the roundabout with traffic signals, constructing a dual flyover bridge above Nuwaidrat intersection and revamping part of Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Avenue between Alba and Nuwaidrat intersections.
It also includes changes to Avenue 15 in Ma'ameer Industrial Area, in addition to constructing a dual road to link Ma'ameer Industrial Area with King Hamad Avenue south of Alba roundabout, the report added.-TradeArabia News Service
