$49m revamp for Corniche planned in Bahrain

The King Faisal Corniche in Manama, Bahrain is set for a major BD19 million ($49.7 million) facelift.
Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa will lay the foundation stone for the project, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The BD19 million development scheme follows directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to implement projects featuring on the government's work plan, including beachfronts.
“The King Faisal Corniche will be turned into a modern beachfront attracting investment and trade activities,” Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Minister Dr Jumaa Al Ka'abi said.
The ministry has already developed beachfronts located in Abu Sobh, Al Ghous coast, Malkiya, Al Dour, Arad, Khalifa Al Kabeer Corniche, Arad Fort and other coastline locations.
Al Fateh Corniche, Sitra Corniche, Tubli Bay, Zallaq, Barbar, Juffair, Askar, Northern Highway, Al Dair, Samaheej and Qalali coasts will also undergo a major facelift. - TradeArabia News Service
