Hana Water makes key Saudi investment

RIYADH, September 8, 2014

Hana Water, a leading water provider in Saudi Arabia, has purchased two new complete lines from Sidel, a global provider of liquid PET packaging solutions.

As of now, the high speed line, capable of producing 72,000 bottles per hour (bph), is currently operational while the second line will be up and running by February 2015, said a statement from Hana Water.

With the addition of the new lines from Sidel, Hana has been able to not only increase the efficiency of their production process, but also conserve energy within the production process and increase output drastically.

As such, they have been able to become a leading water provider in the Saudi Arabian market.

According to Hana, this is the first complete purchase of a line from Sidel over the last ten years. As such , the company decided to completely replace its old line with Sidel’s high speed line.

Sheikh Ahmed H. Al Theyab, the managing director, said: "As the demand for bottled water increases in Saudi market, we have to adapt and expand. As such, we have chosen to work with Sidel because they have proven over a long work history that they are more than capable of providing us with not only the latest and most innovative technology in the industry, but the support and knowledge to provide a quality experience."

Over the past two years, Hana said it has since been able to introduce a new, lighter weight bottle into the market and, with such improved efficiency, secure a leading position in Saudi Arabia.

Due to the increases in productivity and efficiency, they have opted to purchase a second line from Sidel, boasting an even higher turnout rate than the first, it added.

General manager Ahmed Abu Al Ghaith said: "We have been working with Sidel for a long time, but now we have come to realize that they are able to provide us with the latest technology and the means to drastically improve our own facilities more so than other providers."

Andrea DelGrosso, the regional commercial director at Sidel for Greater Middle East, said: "It is true that we provide one of the fastest equipment in the industry, but it’s not only about the speed. We help our customers to be efficient and effective in the way they operate and eventually be profitable at all times."-TradeArabia News Service
