Qatar has offered to help rebuild the war-ravaged Gaza Strip following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestinians.

In a statement, Qatar hoped that the agreement would be a step towards alleviating the suffering of the people in Gaza. It offered to help in the reconstruction work as early as possible.

Qatar has been the major contributor to reconstruction of Gaza after previous wars. Recently, the Qatari committee for rebuilding Gaza allocated $10 million in the first phase for the rebuliding of homes, a report said.

Meanwhile, Moosa Abu Marzouq, vice-chairman of the political office of Hamas, said the reconstruction of Gaza will be discussed in a donors’ conference in Cairo next month. Norway has called for this conference.
