Abu Dhabi to host Intermat in October
Abu Dhabi, June 6, 2012
Intermat Middle East 2012, an event dedicated to construction materials and equipment, will be held in October, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Public Works.
Maryvonne Lanoë, Intermat exhibition director, said: “We are grateful to have the support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. The UAE has established its presence as the centre for trade and development in the region.
“Support from regional governments and municipalities, who are developing urban master plans and multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects, plays an important role in ensuring the success of this international trade exhibition for construction products, building machinery, materials and equipment,” Lanoë said.
Intermat is being organized by Clarion Events Middle East and its partner Comexposium France at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) from October 8 – 10.
More than 250 exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest construction and infrastructure equipment to a region with an estimated $4 trillion in active projects.
The Department of Municipal Affairs in Abu Dhabi will support Intermat as its strategic foundation and knowledge partner.
Ahmed Mohammed Shareef, undersecretary at the department, said: “Intermat Middle East represents a unique knowledge platform for the major infrastructure projects across the UAE and wider Middle East. It will be convened at a time when the UAE and the GCC countries in general are witnessing large scale infrastructure and economic development projects in all sectors.”

More than 7,000 international buyers are expected to attend the exhibition, which will have an outdoor area showcasing products as well as 20,000 sq m gross of exhibition space.
