Damac awards Boulevard piling contract

Damac Properties has awarded the piling contract for its Burjside Boulevard development in the Burj Dubai district to Stromek Emirates Foundations, a subsidiary of M’Sharie (the private equity arm of Dubai Investments).
One of the leading foundation and enabling works contractors in the Middle East, Stromtek, said it has clinched the Dh5.6 million ($1.52 million) contract from Damac Properties following the successful completion of the enabling works on site.
The company will carry out piling work within the week on the luxury tower which will feature nearly 300 serviced apartments, said Hussain Sajwani, chairman of Damac.
'We have announced that we intend to award 10 contracts before the end of the year on our projects and this piling works contract is the start of that process,' he added.
Site mobilisation and preparation has already commenced on site and the piling works for the ground plus 45 storey tower will commence within the next few weeks.
Burjside Boulevard Tower is a luxury serviced apartment development in Dubai and will offer panoramic views of bustling Business Bay and the Burj Dubai.
The tower comprises 38 floors of premium residential space which includes one, two and three bedroom apartments, in addition to one level dedicated to leisure facilities including a gym, spa baths and sauna rooms.
There will also be one level basement and 5 levels of podium car parking. The project is expected to be completed in three years time.
Damac chief executive Peter Riddoch, said the contract award would be the first in a series of contractor appointments over the next few weeks.

'We are currently involved in a whole range of negotiations for a variety of contracts from design consultants right through to main contractors and we will be making more announcements on new project awards soon.'
