Aseer, April 20, 2009

Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation (ATF), which supports organisations with development projects and humanitarian affairs, has inaugurated 200 housing units in Alqirah, in the province of Aseer, Saudi Arabia.

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of ATF, visited Aseer province yesterday (April 19) to inaugurate the charitable housing units.

The project to build 200 housing units in Alqirah was fully funded by ATF.

Prince Alwaleed’s visit began with a ceremony under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, governor of Aseer, where documents for the housing units were handed over to the respective individuals.

The ceremony also included a reciting of poetry and a speech by Sheikh Ali Al Nashwan clarifying that the development of Prince Alwaleed’s Iskan projects for the poor was in response to the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah’s initiative.

In conclusion to the visit, Prince Alwaleed headed to Abha airport to depart back to Riyadh with the accompanying delegation, where he thanked Prince Faisal bin Khalid for the hospitality and expressed his keen interest in further exploring possible investment and development opportunities in Aseer. – TradeArabia News Service
