Reef Island developer marks safety record

Manama, February 10, 2009

Lulu Tourism Company recently celebrated achieving one million hours without a lost time accident at the work site of its Reef Island project.

To mark the occasion, Elias Karaan, general manager of Lulu Tourism Company, presented a plaque commissioned in the shape of Reef Island to Fadi Habib, project manager for Al Hamad Construction.

“To achieve more than one million hours without a Lost Time Accident is testament to the fantastic work being carried out on site,’’ said Paul Bonner of global construction consultancy Davis Langdon, the Project and Cost Managers on Reef Island.

Reef Island will be one of Bahrain’s premier developments and is located in the heart of Manama on the northern shore. Once complete, the development will consist of luxurious residential accommodation in the form of villas and apartments, a private lagoon, a private marina and yacht club, a five star hotel and a shopping centre.  - TradeArabia News Service
