ACC wins $1.7bn Reem Island contract

Abu Dhabi, October 7, 2008

Abu Dhabi property developers Sorouh Real Estate and Tameer Holding Investment have awarded a contract worth Dh6.2 billion ($1.69 billion) to Arabian Construction Co to build a flagship project on Abu Dhabi's Reem Island.

The Gate Towers is a mixed-use joint venture project on Reem Island. ACC will construct six of the eight towers at The Gate District.

Construction will start in early 2009 and will be completed in over the next four years.

ACC is currently building the Sky and Sun Towers in Abu-Dhabi for Sorouh, as well as Princess, the world's tallest residential tower, and Elite Towers in Dubai for Tameer.- Reuters
