Four Lintec batching plants for Al Raha

Abu Dhabi, May 12, 2008

Aldar-Readymix Abu Dhabi Ltd (RMAD) has recently commissioned two top-of-the-range Lintec CC 3000 D concrete batching plant for its Al Raha beach development project.

They have joined two similarly–rated Lintec plants for the adjacent Yas Island development, said a statement.

All four plants are able to meet Aldar-RMAD’s initial requirement for up to 4200 cu m per day of high specification quality concrete; rising to 8000 cu m per day.  By completion it is anticipated that the project will use in excess of 15 million cu m of concrete, it said.

Al Raha beach development is being built close to the Abu Dhabi – Dubai highway along a 5 km long water frontage, much on reclaimed land.  It will occupy an area of 6.8 million sq m and provide a total built-up area of 12 million sq m for residential, commercial and recreational uses.

The development will provide a new city district serving as the gateway to Abu Dhabi City and accommodate some 120,000 residents.  Forming part of the overall beach development, Yas Island will incorporate a Ferrari theme park and the F1 race circuit.

RMAD has a total of six Lintec concrete plant, including the two latest deliveries. All plants are built to ISO-container specifications and certified by Germanischer Lloyd.

The mixing plant is built into standard 20 ft and 40 ft containers, with each container equipped with all the necessary electrical and mechanical connectors, said the statement.

With low slump concrete and a 30-second mixing cycle, the CC 3000 D can handle a 240 m³/h load with one mixer at 120 m³/h in continuous operation, and twice that with both mixers in simultaneous action, it said.

It is also able to mix two different recipes at the same time.

According to Robert Hogan, production manager, RMAD, the company was initially attracted to Lintec’s easy transportation capabilities with the design based on ISO-containers.

“We found that this suited our requirements with a series of projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar, but as an added bonus, we quickly recognised that the twin-shaft design mixer ensured a high output quality concrete.”

The two recently commissioned Lintec units each feature nine cement silos, housing open Portland Cement (OPC), ground granulated blast furnace slag (ggbs), micro silica, fly ash and SRC type V cement.

RMAD is considered the region’s leading supplier of the highest quality concrete with a high content admix dosage to meet the most stringent specification, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
