Ahlam Zainal named Al Areen Holding Company CEO

GFH Financial Group, a leading regional financial group with interests in asset management and real estate sectors, said its key subsidiary Al Areen Holding Company has appointed Engineer Ahlam Zainal as its new CEO.
 
An industry veteran, Zainal has more than 16 years of experience in the real estate investment and development sector, during which time she has held several senior positions at leading Bahraini real estate companies including Infracorp, Amlak Company, Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) and Ithmaar Development Company.
 
As CEO, she will oversee the development of a new strategy for the project as a whole, including structuring strategic partnerships with leading developers to complete the various components that comprise the Al Areen desert project.
 
Al Areen masterplan extends over an area of ​​approximately 2 million sq m near Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve in the southern region of the Kingdom of Bahrain. 
 
The masterplan includes the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park and Al Areen Palace and Spa by Accor, which will be operated under the Raffles brand belonging to Accor, the world's leading hospitality group.
 
Welcoming the appointment, GFH Financial Group CEO and Board Member Hisham Alrayes said: "Our vision is to support the development of Al Areen area into a key destination for hospitality, entertainment and healthcare through supporting prominent projects in those fields."

Zainal holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo and a master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University.
