Hessa Al Ghurair to lead CBI’s CSR programme

DUBAI, February 12, 2017

Dubai-headquartered CBI, a well-established corporate and retail bank, has appointed Hessa Al Ghurair as its head of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Al Ghurair, who is also CBI’s chief human resources sfficer, will develop the bank’s CSR programme in alignment with the UAE's Year of Giving initiatives.

Mark Robinson, chief executive officer of CBI, said: “In CBI, we believe in ‘banking on people,’ which reinforces not only our business philosophy, but also our approach to corporate citizenship. As a UAE-based bank, we take seriously our role in the community and believe that organizations must positively contribute to the well-being and social progress of the communities they operate in.”

“Since joining CBI, Hessa Al Ghurair has demonstrated a dedication to enhancing CBI’s role in the community and strengthening the bank’s commitment to enable employees to give back to give back to the community in which they live and work,” he said.

In December 2016, the UAE’s President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declared 2017 to be the Year of Giving. Individuals and companies alike are encouraged to actively participate in a number of initiatives ranging from supporting charities to volunteering.

Al Ghurair added: “Over the coming months, CBI will roll-out a series of initiatives to support the UAE’s Year of Giving. As an employer we believe in equality and giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
