Qatar-UAE trade volume hits $7bn

The bilateral trade volume between Qatar and UAE touched QR26.1 billion ($7.17 billion) last year, according to a report.
 
It is witnessing fast growth which is benefiting the two countries and helps achieve the common interests of all the GCC member states, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, was quoted as saying in The Peninsula report.
 
Speaking at the Qatar-UAE Economic Forum, he said the deepening and strengthening of bilateral relations are reflected on the level of investments made by public and private sector companies from both sides in Qatar and the UAE.
 
UAE is Qatar's fifth biggest trading partner and more than 1,000 companies with UAE capital shares are operating in Qatar while nearly 4,200 Qatari businesses operate in the UAE, the report added.
