Miagen to launch finance function road show in UAE
DUBAI, November 9, 2015
Miagen, a global forecasting, planning, and analysis consultancy headquartered in Ireland, is preparing to launch the 'Transform Your Finance Function' roadshow, in collaboration with US-based cloud corporate performance management provider Adaptive Insights.
It will kick-off with a breakfast meeting in Abu Dhabi, UAE on November 16 and will be in Dubai the day after.
The events will highlight how technology-powered financial planning and analysis (FP&A) can help organisations scale new, extraordinary heights; companies in the UAE, in particular, are now recognising the importance of technologically advanced finance functions.
Teddy Murphy, chief executive officer, Miagen, said: “The Middle East has gone through considerable change recently, and the need for planning scales up when things are fluid. Modern technology has injected a healthy, much-needed dose of collaborative and driver based planning into enterprises, which has made financial planning more agile and more suited to the needs of businesses operating in today’s competitive environment.”
A recent Gartner’s study on the critical technology needs of contemporary chief financial officers (CFOs) points to business analysis as the process most in need of technology backing and investments – 62 per cent as per the survey – followed by the ongoing monitoring of business performance at 57 per cent.
Rob Hull, founder and chairman of Adaptive Insights; Jim Kaitz, AFP president and CEO of FP&A Club; and Shariq Daudi, head of Etihad’s Long Term Planning and Budgeting will all join Miagen at the road show.
“We believe in creating awareness among companies on the importance of innovating and embracing cloud-based technology with all the advantages it can offer over traditional systems. The responsibility of today’s finance chiefs is shifting from number crunching and spreadsheet management to navigating the organisation through market volatility and embracing new technology to make better, faster decisions," said Murphy.
“As finance leaders rise beyond the spreadsheets to become strategic business partners, stale practices and processes need a refresher. That’s why Miagen and Adaptive Insights are bringing this roadshow to the UAE. The show is all about finance transformation—specifically, what finance teams can do to add maximum value throughout the organisation and create a culture of data-driven decisions that steer businesses to success,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
