Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain has appointed Dalal Ahmed Al Qais as the new head of retail clients.

She is not only the first Bahraini in this position but also the first female to take on the responsibility, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Al Qais will be responsible for the overall implementation of the recently announced retail clients strategy in Bahrain as well as and management of innovative products and excellence in customer service.

"Dalal is one of our outstanding senior team members. She has played a key role in successfully managing segments of the retail business in her previous roles," Standard Chartered Bahrain chief executive Hassan Amin Jarrar said.

"Her appointment is in line with one of our prime objectives of not only recruiting, but also developing qualified Bahrainis into senior roles.

Al Qais joined Standard Chartered in 2003 in a frontline role and progressed to head of segments, and most recently, head of distribution. - TradeArabia News Service
